Keeneland Sept Day-2: $950K for Scat Daddy Colt

Thursday, 14th September 2017

A chestnut colt from the last crop of Scat Daddy was the highest selling lot on day two of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale on Tuesday when knocked down to Kerri Radcliffe Bloodstock for $950,000. The colt is the first foal out of the stakes-placed Miss Lamour (Mr Greeley). Scat Daddy was a huge loss to the industry when he died in 2015. He has seven crops of racing age to date that already include 87 stakes winners with his progeny earning in excess of $51 million. On Tuesday, 194 horses sold for a gross of US$48,221,000, up 63 percent from the 119 sold in 2016 for a gross of US$37,959,000. The average for the session was US$248,562, while the median was US$200,000. Seven yearlings sold for $750,000 or more.
