Scales Of Justice Set for VIC Debut

Wednesday, 13th September 2017

Brad Rawiller says he is excited about riding Scales Of Justice (Not a Single Doubt-Beymatilla, by Umatilla) when the West Australian Horse of the Year makes his Melbourne debut in Saturday's Gr2 Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m) at Flemington, reports the West Australian. Rawiller was aboard the Gr1 Railway Stakes (1600m) winner when he galloped alongside fellow Bobbie Lewis contender Voodoo Lad at Casterton on Monday. "I can't wait for the weekend," Rawiller said. "Whatever he does he'll improve on going into the Rupert Clarke. His Perth form is outstanding and he's given me an excellent feel." The Lindsey Smith-trained 5YO is being aimed at the Gr1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on 1 October, and the Gr1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at the same venue on 14 October. "It will be interesting to see how he goes down the straight, but I'm sure Flemington will be perfect for him. You generally need to be a strong 1400 horse to be good down the straight," Rawiller said.
