Valuable Yearling Debuts Encouragingly In UK

Tuesday, 5th September 2017

At Sandown in the UK, blue-blood juvenile Emaraaty (Dubawi-Zee Zee Top, by Zafonic) closed off his pipe-opener strongly over 7 furlongs in a 2YO maiden last Friday to finish fourth, beaten 3.75-lengths as joint $4 favourite from an unsuitable wide barrier. Owned by Sheik Hamdam Al Maktoum, Emaraaty was a 2.6 million guineas yearling at the 2016 Tattersalls October Book-1 Sale, where he was the joint top lot. Prepared by John Gosden, the colt holds an entry for October's Gr1 Dewhurst Stakes, however may now be put away before a potentially exciting 3YO season next year where much is expected of him. To say Emeraaty's pedigree is soaked in Gr1 form is an understatement. Within his first two dams and their offspring alone are Gr1 winners Zee Zee Top, Izzi Top, Colourspin, Kayf Tara and Necklace.
