Gr1 Australasian Oaks Nominations

Tuesday, 2nd May 2017

A total of 28 fillies have been nominated for Saturday's $500,000 Gr1 Australasian Oaks (2010m) at Morphettville. The set weights 3YO fillies feature will have a capacity field of 16 plus 4 emergencies. Heading the field on ratings is the David & Ben Hayes & Tom Dabernig-trained Harlow Gold who will be hoping to finally break through at the top level following Gr1 placings in the VRC Oaks in the spring and the Vinery Stud Stakes in the autumn. But arguably the two fillies to concentrate on when markets open will be the Darren Weir-trained Kenedna, a last-start impressive winner of the Gr3 Auraria Stakes (1800m) in Adelaide, and the Chris Waller-trained Egg Tart, a daughter of Sebring who has looked very smart winning 4 of her 6 starts.
