Queensland To Farewell Buffering

Thursday, 27th October 2016

Racing fans will get the chance to farewell star sprinter Buffering at a series of events during the upcoming summer carnival, reports AAP. Buffering, a 5-time Queensland Horse of the Year, was retired to Living Legends retirement farm in Victoria following his sixth place finish in Friday night's Gr1 Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley. "Buffering will spend six weeks at Living Legends and then be brought back to Queensland for some farewell appearances leading into the Magic Millions carnival in January," trainer Robert Heathcote said. "We are working with the Brisbane Race Club to put the final details together." Buffering (Mossman-Action Annie, by Anabaa) retires with 20 wins from 55 starts, including seven wins at Gr1 level. His career earnings of $7,256,458 place him in second spot on the all-time prize money list for Australian sprinters behind Black Caviar with $7,364,462.
