Freedmans Lose Malaguerra

Wednesday, 29th June 2016

Gr1 winner Malaguerra will have a new trainer for the upcoming spring carnival after his owners decided to remove him from the stable of Lee and Anthony Freedman. The 4YO stamped himself as one of the most progressive sprinters in training when landing the Gr1 BTC Cup (1350m) during the winter carnival in Brisbane. Initially, Lee Freedman did not know who would be taking over the training duties but it has since been reported that owner Bruno Micalizzi is transferring the horse to the Moe stable of Peter Gelagotis. "The owners removed the horse from the stable and sent it to, I don't know who," the Hall of Fame trainer told Melbourne's Radio Sport National yesterday. "I advise anyone in the press should they want to know any more about that horse to ring the owner, because they will probably find out more than I have." Malaguerra (Magnus-Tennessee Morn, by Bletchingly) has won 10 of his 19 starts hitherto for $758,100 in earnings.
