Frankel Sibling Set For French Debut
Proconsul, a 3YO brother to the world's highest-ever rated racehorse, Frankel, is set to make his eagerly awaited debut in the Prix de Joinville (10 furlongs) at Chantilly tonight, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. Trained by Andre Fabre for owner-breeder Khalid Abdullah, the regally-bred colt by Galileo out of the stakes-winning Danehill mare Kind will be ridden by Vincent Cheminaud. Proconsul is the sixth foal from the remarkable Kind who, apart from the incomparable Frankel, has also produced multiple Gr1 winner Noble Mission (Galileo), Gr3 winner Bullet Train (Sadler's Wells), stakes winner Joyeuse (Oasis Dream), and three time winner Morpheus (Oasis Dream). Trained by the late Sir Henry Cecil, Frankel was unbeaten in 14 starts, winning ten Gr1 races and finishing his racing career with a phenomenal Timeform Rating of 147, the highest in history. He stands at Juddmonte's Banstead Manor Stud near Newmarket at a fee of £125,000.
