Waller Points To Spring Turnaround For Vanbrugh

Wednesday, 20th April 2016

The talented Chris Waller-trained galloper Vanbrugh (Encosta de Lago-Soho Secret, by Lucky Owners) will be set for the Gr1 Epsom Handicap in the Spring, reports horseracing.com.au. Vanbrugh, who won the Gr1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) and Gr3 Gloaming Stakes during the first half of his 3YO season has struggled to find his best form over the late Summer and Autumn, and has been sent to the paddock for a break. Waller said, "With his turn of foot, better tracks are key for Vanbrugh and he would be very competitive at Randwick where he won as a two-year-old and this season in the Gr1 Spring Champion Stakes... I think 1600 to 2000 metres is potentially his best trip and obviously more success at the highest level will enhance the stud prospects of an already valuable colt."
