Single Gaze Wins Gr1 Vinery Stud Stakes

Tuesday, 29th March 2016

At Rosehill Gardens in Sydney, Arrowfield Stud's multiple stakes-winning stallion Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice-Single's Bar, by Rory's Jester) celebrated an elite success when 3YO filly Single Gaze (Not a Single Doubt-Redaluca's Gaze, by Intergaze) scored by 0.8-length for trainer Nick Olive in the $500,000 Gr1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) for 3YO fillies, over fellow fillies Valley Girl (Mastercraftsman-Leigh Valley, by Bianconi) & Happy Hannah (More Than Ready-Absolute Joy, by Zabeel). Purchased for $70,000 by her trainer Nick Olive at the 2014 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Redbank North, Single Gaze took her record to 3 wins (including the Gr3 Arrowfield Kembla Grange Classic) and 5 placings (including the Gr2 ATC Surround Stakes) from 13 starts for $1,178,300 earnings. "It is unbelievable...just fantastic," Olive said. "She is such a good filly. I was confident all week that she would be better over 2000 than she was at a mile." He added: "Everybody else didn't think that she would run it, but we were super confident."
