Flintshire Arrives For US Campaign
Three-time Gr1 winning European galloper Flintshire (Dansili-Dance Routine, by Sadler's Wells) arrived at trainer Chad Brown's Belmont Park stable on Saturday to prepare for a North American campaign, reports Blood Horse. Owned by Juddmonte Farms, the 6YO has not raced since finishing second to Highland Reel in the Gr1 Hong Kong Vase (2400m) in December. "We let him jog a mile under tack today and he looked great," Brown said on Sunday. "The horse came from Andre Fabre in outstanding shape. We're so thankful they sent us this horse to begin with and even more thankful he's in such outstanding condition. He's a remarkable-looking horse - a picture of health right out of quarantine." He added: "We're going to take some time to get to know the horse and pick up his training a little bit, then hopefully we'll start to map out a schedule for him." Flintshire has 5 of his 19 starts, highlighted by Gr1 victories in the Grand Prix de Paris (2400m), Hong Kong Vase (2400m) and Sword Dancer Invitational Stakes at Saratoga. Underscoring his class, the remarkable entire has also been runner-up at Gr1 level on no less than seven occasions, including twice in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
