Treve Primed For Return

Friday, 29th May 2015

Connections of dual Arc heroine Treve (Motivator-Trevise, by Anabaa) are confident the superstar mare remains at the peak of her powers ahead of her eagerly awaited return in Friday's Gr2 Prix Corrida (2100m) at Saint-Cloud, reports At The Races. Treve will have a four-race campaign aimed at an unprecedented third Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe success in October. Seven horses have won Europe's weight-for-age championship twice, but no horse has won three. "Treve is in fantastic form. I saw her last week and she looked absolutely terrific," said Harry Herbert, racing manager for owner Al Shaqab Racing. "She's fuller than she was last year and is moving beautifully, seeming to have retained all her old zest. Provided she's straight enough and she's done enough work-wise, which I'm sure she has, hopefully she'll give a really good account of herself." He added: "It's wonderful having her for this attempt for a third Arc. Everything that goes on at this time of year is a bonus as she's a proper autumn filly." Herbert said that Treve is likely to run in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud at the end of June before a mid-season break. She is then likely to have her final Arc prep in the Prix Vermeille. "At the moment, it's a four-race campaign - (Prix Corrida), Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, Vermeille and then the Arc," he said.
