Lucky Hussler Out Of Stradbroke

Wednesday, 27th May 2015

Gr1-winning sprinter Lucky Hussler will miss the $2 million Gr1 Stradbroke Handicap on Saturday week to concentrate on a spring campaign, reports racing.com. Lucky Hussler (Husson-Talaq Dancer, by Black Hawk) was galloped on when finishing seventh in the Gr1 Goodwood at Morphettville last start, although trainer Darren Weir said the incident had no bearing on the decision. "There's nothing wrong with him but after discussing it with the owner we decided to give him a good break and concentrate on the spring," Weir said. "He was galloped on in Adelaide but I don't think it would have affected his performance." Weir nominated races such as the Gr1 Sir Rupert Clarke Charity Cup (1400m) and Gr1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfield as possible spring targets for the 5YO.
