At Randwick in Sydney, Darley's 2006 Champion 2YO Colt & 2007 Gr1 Kentucky Derby-winning shuttler Street Sense (Street Cry-Bedazzle, by Dixieland Band) added a black-type success when 4YO gelding Sense Of Occasion (Street Sense-Saywaan, by Zabeel) scored by 0.8-length for trainer Joseph Pride in the $100,000 Listed McKell Cup (2400m) for 3YO+, over fellow 4YO gelding Singing Flame (Song of Tara-What a Giggle, by Air de France) & 7YO UK-bred gelding Our Voodoo Prince (Kingmambo-Ouija Board, by Cape Cross). This was the first stakes victory for Sense Of Occasion who took his record to 5 wins and 5 placings (including the Listed ATC Lord Mayor's Cup) from 15 starts for $231,325 earnings. Sense Of Occasion was purchased by Beamish Bloodstock for $80,000 at the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud.
