Entisaar Wins Gr1 Allan Robertson Championship
At Scottsville in South Africa, Vinery shuttler More Than Ready (Southern Halo-Woodman's Girl, by Woodman) celebrated a Gr1 success when 2YO Australian-bred filly Entisaar (More Than Ready-Purrpurrlena, by Catbird) scored by 1-length for trainer Mike de Kock in the Gr1 Allan Robertson Championship (1200m) for 2YO fillies, over fellow fillies Princess Royal (Captain Al-Platinum Princess, by Rakeen) & Madame Dubois (Count Dubois-Miss Jet Set, by Jet Master). Entisaar took her record to 3 wins (including the Listed Ruffian Stakes) and 1 placing (the Gr3 Pretty Polly Stakes) from 4 starts. Entisaar, who is the 16th individual Group 1 winner for Vinery Stud's champion stallion, had been named Champion 2YO Filly at the 2015 Highveld Awards last week after victories in the LR Ruffian Stakes and G2 SA Fillies Nursery at Turffontein. Winning jockey Johnny Geroudis reported the race panned out in his favour from the half-way point. "I was always travelling well. I got a little gap at the 200m and she quickened away nicely." However, South African racegoers may have seen the last of Entisaar with De Kock intimating she will now join his string of international gallopers even though there are races like the Gr1 Golden Slipper (1400m) and Gr2 Debutante Stakes (1200m) on the horizon at Greyville. Entisaar was bred by Vinery partner Alan Green and made $300,000 at the 2014 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale. She is raced by Sheikh Hamdan and is the first foal for Purrpurrlena who won four races in Sydney and was also runner-up in a G3 Newcastle Newmarket. Purrpurrlena has a yearling filly by More Than Ready, a colt on the ground by Congrats and she was bred to All Too Hard last year. Vinery will stand More Than Ready (USA) for a $66,000 (inc gst) service fee in 2015.
