10,000 Reasons To Visit Bel Esprit

Monday, 25th May 2015

There has already been a Group One response to Bel Esprit's relocation to Queensland for this spring with Tony Thomas booking his mare, Kenbelle, dam of Saturday's Gr1 Doomben 10,000 winner Boban, to the Champion sire. Kenbelle was a high-class racehorse herself, winning the 1996 Gr1 Australian Oaks and 1997 Gr2 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (since upgraded to Gr1 status). Eliza Park International's Queensland representative, Robyn Wise, said Tony was quick out of the barriers to book Kenbelle into Bel Esprit and that the phone has been ringing hot since last month's announcement. Another top broodmare set to visit Bel Esprit is Gr1 Golden Slipper winner Merlene, who is owned by Queensland's Daandine Pastoral. Bel Esprit will stand at Eliza Park International in Queensland at a fee of $18,700.
