Spendthrift Announces Inaugural Australian Fees

Thursday, 21st May 2015

Spendthrift Australia has set its debut roster of four stallions that will stand during the farm's inaugural breeding season in 2015. Operating at the former Yallambee Stud in Victoria, Spendthrift Australia will have two pricing options for all four stallions. The farm's renowned Share The Upside program will be offered, along with traditional Stands & Nurses fees. The following are standard Stands & Nurses fees and Share The Upside fees for each stallion for 2015 (all fees include GST):

  • Can the Man: Stands & Nurses fee - $3,850; Share the Upside fee - $5,500
  • Hampton Court: Stands & Nurses - $8,800; Share the Upside - $11,000
  • Jimmy Creed: Stands & Nurses - $8,800; Share the Upside - $11,000
  • Warrior's Reward: Stands & Nurses - $11,000; Share the Upside - $13,750

Share The Upside is a straightforward, breeder-friendly program. There are a limited number of opportunities per stallion, and the offer is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Breeders can secure a spot with a $275 inc GST one-time deposit, and then sign two stands and nurses contracts to breed a mare in 2015 and 2016. Once two foals have been produced and the stud fees have been paid on both live foals, the breeder earns a lifetime breeding right starting as early as the 2017 breeding season. The breeding right continues annually and throughout the breeding life of the stallion, and there are no further expenses to the breeder.
