No Derby For Grey Lion
Champion French trainer Andre Fabre says the unbeaten Grey Lion will not run in next month's English Derby at Epsom, reports Sky Sports. The son of Galileo is as short as 14-1 for the Classic but Fabre says he has no specific plans in mind for the highly promising 3YO. Grey Lion was scheduled to run in the Sandown Classic Trial last month but missed the race after developing a sickness and will only return to full exercise today. "Grey Lion will not be going to Epsom," said Fabre. "He is only going to start back in full work tomorrow after he was sick." He added, "At this moment I don't have any plan in mind for him." John Gosden's brilliant Dante Stakes winner Golden Horn is the clear 2-1 favourite for the Derby after confirmation over the weekend that the undefeated son of Cape Cross will be supplemented for the June 6 event.
