Latest World's Best Racehorse Rankings

Monday, 18th May 2015

The latest World's Best Racehorse Rankings were released on Thursday, with Hong Kong superstar Able Friend (125) and Champion US galloper Shared Belief (125) still tied at the top of the leaderboard. Published by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA), the official rankings include horses that are 3YO or older which raced between 1st January and 10th May 2015. Outstanding US 3YO American Pharoah (124) joined Solow (124) in equal third position after winning the Kentucky Derby earlier this month, but the star colt is sure to be elevated even higher after cruising to a brilliant win in Saturday's Preakness Stakes. The Bob Baffert-trained colt could even end up the world's top ranked racehorse if he can become the first horse since Affirmed in 1978 to win the Triple Crown at Belmont next month. Australian racehorses Lankan Rupee (123), Brazen Beau (121) and Criterion (120) also feature prominently. Click here to view rankings.
