Craig Anderson Wins Murray Bain Service Award
The Murray Bain Service Award honours industry leaders who have made a lasting contribution to the Hunter Valley's thoroughbred breeding stud practice ensuring that our industry remains at the forefront of world's best practice. This year the HTBA Murray Bain Service Award recipient is popular identity Craig Anderson, owner and manager of Amarina Farm. From an early start working at his father's side at various studs, Anderson has had a life-long love of the land and livestock, particularly thoroughbred bloodstock. From his early beginnings, Anderson's work with stallions at Segenhoe Stud, under the respected Lionel Israel, to his management of iconic studs such as Bhima, and his establishment of the Bellerive agistment farm, "has demonstrated his dedication to fostering and building the best environment to produce racehorse champions of the future". In 2006 Anderson and his wife Sue, in partnership with Gavin Murphy and Catherine Donovan, established Amarina Farm, a well appointed 420 acre agistment farm with industry leading facilities, which already counts a number of Gr1 winners amongst its alumni.
