Brazen Beau Update

Thursday, 14th May 2015

Meanwhile, Darley's Managing Director in Australia Henry Plumptre has provided an update on star sprinter Brazen Beau (I Am Invincible-Sansadee, by Snaadee) as he prepares for his trip to Royal Ascot next month. Speaking on Sky's Racing HQ, Plumptre said that the Gr1 Newmarket Handicap winner was making excellent progress in the build-up to Royal Ascot where he will run in either the Gr1 King's Stand Stakes or the Gr1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes. The King's Stand Stakes (1000m) will be run on the opening day of the Royal meeting on Tuesday 16 June, while the Diamond Jubilee will be staged on the fifth and final day, Saturday 20 June. "He looks absolutely spot on. He's where you would want him at this stage," said Plumptre, after visiting trainer Chris Waller's stable at Rosehill. "Chris has considered all the options in terms of transport and the race at Ascot, and he's taken the view that he would rather land in the UK nearer to the race than further out." He added, "He is trialling at Rosehill on Monday morning and then he will have a trial up the straight at Flemington on May 29th. He will then get on a plane with Shamal Wind on June 3rd."
