Recite's Career In Balance

Tuesday, 12th May 2015

A decision is still pending regarding the future of dual Gr1-winning Kiwi mare Recite (Darci Brahma-Chant, by Traditionally), reports NZ Racing Desk. The Oaks Stud-bred and raced 4YO has been side-lined since winning an open 1200m sprint at Te Rapa in February for trainer John Bary. "It's not a race or stress-related injury, she probably did it playing in the paddock," Oaks Stud's manager Rick Williams said. "It's an upper limb injury so the next two or three weeks with her will tell the full story." He added, "She's already done a fantastic job for us, but it's frustrating because physically she's finally there and the best might be ahead if we can get her back to being sound again." Williams noted that Recite's recovery had been further hindered by a recent front foot abscess.
