Ballet Suite Wins Listed Princess Stakes

Monday, 11th May 2015

At Doomben in Brisbane, Coolmore's deceased dual Derby-winning shuttler & 6-time Gr1 victor High Chaparral (Sadler's Wells-Kasora, by Dashaan) added a black-type success when his talented 3YO daughter Ballet Suite (High Chaparral-Suitely, by Woodman) scored by 0.3-length for trainer Chris Waller in the $100,000 Listed Princess Stakes (2000m) for 3YO fillies, over fellow 3YO fillies Bohemian Lily (O'Reilly-Bohemian Blues, by Blues Traveller) & Zarzali (Hussonet-Zarakiysha, by Kendor). This was the first stakes victory for the Coolmore-owned Ballet Suite who took her record to 4 wins and 1 placing from 8 starts for $174,375 earnings. Trainer Chris Waller confirmed that Ballet Suite would head towards the Queensland Oaks on 30 May. "It was the right race for her today," Waller said. "She is a really good filly, a high class filly and we will see improvement off that." Ballet Suite, who was purchased for $300,000 at the 2013 NZB Premier Yearling Sale from the draft of Curraghmore Stud, is out of the Woodman mare Suitely and is a half-sister to Listed Talindert Stakes winner Casquets. This is also the family of multiple Gr1-winning stallion Century, sire of outstanding sires Centaine and Rubiton.
