Melbourne Cup Possible For Dunlop Stayer

Friday, 8th May 2015

UK trainer Ed Dunlop might have found another Melbourne Cup horse judging by the impressive victory of Trip To Paris (Champs Elysees) in the Chester Cup (3700m) on Wednesday, reports racing.com. Dunlop is best known as the trainer of popular globetrotting stayer Red Cadeaux, who has finished runner-up in three of the past four editions of the Cup. Dunlop suggested that Trip To Paris, a winner of 5 of his 14 starts, was the right type of horse to bring to Australia. "He's adaptable and I might take him to the Melbourne Cup," Dunlop told the Racing Post. "He's had four races now and he might have a bit of a holiday. He relaxes and doesn't use a lot of energy and he's got a turn of foot."
