Meanwhile, Peter Gelagotis has been charged by Racing Victoria stewards for the alleged raceday treatment of Axis Point on the first day of the Warrnambool Carnival, reports racing.com. Stewards allege Gelagotis administered, or caused to be administered, an amino acid supplement to Axis Point on Tuesday. A syringe was confiscated by RV's Compliance Assurance Team following a routine inspection and the horse was subsequently scratched by order of the stewards. "It's pretty clear where we have headed the last couple of years with this - it's just zero tolerance as far as we're concerned once it comes raceday and that's why the horse was scratched," RV cairman of stewards Terry Bailey said. "Had Mr Gelagotis sought permission, the stewards, on veterinary advice, wouldn't have given that permission. The evidence, in our view, is pretty strong that the horse had received treatment that day."
