Jazzi Top Continues Meon Valley Tradition

Wednesday, 6th May 2015

Meanwhile, Leebaz had a close relation win in the UK on Sunday when the beautifully bred Jazzi Top won the Listed Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket. Both Leebaz and Jazzi Top are direct descendants of Reprocolor, one of the foundation mares of the Weinfeld family's Meon Valley Stud in England. Trained by John Gosden and ridden by Frankie Dettori, Jazzi Top (Danehill Dancer) showed she would be a force in the major fillies races over the summer when scoring an impressive first-up win over the Aga Khan-owned Zannda and Amaze Me. Jazzi Top is out of Gr1 Prix de l'Opera winner Zee Zee Top, a granddaughter of Leebaz's third dam Reprocolor. This is also the family of Leebaz's half-brother Polish Knight, winner of the Gr2 Tulloch Stakes, as well as European Classic winners Cezanne, Colorspin, Kayf Tara and Opera House. Gosden said that he would consider his options with Jazzi Top, who has  now won 2 of her 4 starts. "Her half-sister (Izzi Top) was third in the Oaks, but her best trip was a mile and a quarter. With this filly being by Danehill Dancer, we've got a slightly different pedigree to consider," Gosden told Sky Sports. "We could not be more pleased with her and Frankie felt the trip was spot on. We'll keep all options open and discuss the situation."
