Black Heart Bart Arrives For Goodwood
Talented Perth sprinter Black Heart Bart (Blackfriars-Sister Theresa, by At Talaq) has arrived in Adelaide to prepare for the $500,000 Gr1 Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville on Saturday week, reports racingandsports.com.au. Black Heart Bart is undoubtedly one of West Australia's most promising horses having won 7 of his 18 starts, including five stakes victories. The 4YO by resident Scenic Lodge stallion Blackfriars looked a highly progressive galloper indeed when romping to a 5.25-length win in the Listed Bunbury Stakes (1400m) at his most recent outing in March. Black Heart Bart tuned up for his first interstate test with a recent barrier trial win at Lark Hill, the Perth training complex where trainer Vaughn Sigley has his stables. He arrived at Strathalbyn on Friday and has delighted Sigley with the way he has settled in. "He brightened up and he's eating well so I'm really happy," Sigley said. The well-related Black Heart Bart is out of a half-sister to New Zealand Oaks winner Savannah Success, dam of Cox Plate winner and outstanding young stallion Savabeel.
