Delicacy To Run In SA Derby

Tuesday, 5th May 2015

Delicacy will back up against the boys in Saturday's Gr1 South Australian Derby at Morphettville provided she continues to do well following her Australasian Oaks victory on the weekend. The daughter of Al Maher laid claim to being Australia's best 3YO filly when scoring a strong 1.2-length win in the Gr1 Australasian Oaks (2000m) at Morphettville on Saturday, defeating Gr1 Vinery Stud Stakes heroine Fenway and the promising Darren Weir-trained Bahamas. Speaking to RSNs Shane Anderson, Delicacy's West Australian-based owner-breeder Bob Peters said he would press on with the brilliant filly as long as she continued to race well. "I've never had a filly that is as strong and as tough as she is," said Peters. "At the moment we'll just keep going while she's going. " He added, "She's pulled up well and providing everything goes well this week she'll be there (the South Australian Derby)."
