Monday, 4th May 2015

At Longchamp in France, star 9YO French galloper Cirrus Des Aigles (Even Top-Taille De Guepe, by Septieme Ciel) posted the seventh Gr1 victory of his remarkable career when scoring by 1.25-lengths for trainer Corine Barande-Barbe in the €300,000 Gr1 Prix Ganay (2100m) for 3YO+, over 7YO entire Al Kazeem (Dubawi-Kazeem, by Darshaan) & 6YO mare Fate (Teofilo-Specificity, by Alleged). This was the third Prix Ganay victory for Cirrus Des Aigles who took his record to 22 wins (including the Gr1 Coronation Cup, Gr1 Prix d'Ispahan, Gr1 Prix Ganay – twice, Gr1 Dubai Sheema Classic & Gr1 Champion Stakes) and 27 placings (including the Gr1 Hong Kong Cup, Gr1 Champion Stakes & Gr1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud) from 62 starts for over €6 million earnings. Winning trainer Corine Barande-Barbe told Racing Post: "It's his third win in the Ganay in four attempts and perhaps he is getting better because the first time he ran in this it was also his comeback run and he was beaten. This time he won on his comeback."
