Waikato Stud Announces 2015 Sire Fees

Tuesday, 14th April 2015

Meanwhile, across the Tasman, headlined by their exceptional Cox Plate-winning stallion Savabeel, New Zealand's Waikato Stud has announced its 2015 sire fees. Not surprisingly, after an exceptional year which now sees him with 8 individual Gr1 winners (four this season) and 39 stakes-winners from his first seven crops, Savabeel's fee rises to $100,000 + GST. Joining the Waikato line-up for his stud debut is Champion Australian/NZ Miler Sacred Falls, a son of Waikato Stud's long-time star sire O'Reilly. Waikato's principal Mark Chittick said, "We've always wanted to stand O'Reilly's best son and this season we will be doing so with the brilliant 4-time Gr1 winner Sacred Falls." Transferred to Chris Waller in Australia after winning the New Zealand 2000 Guineas when trained by Tony Pike & Mark Donoghue, Sacred Falls scored back-to-back Gr1 Doncaster wins as well as capturing the Gr1 George Main Stakes. He will stand for $30,000 + GST. In NZ currency, now on a par with the Australian dollar, the full Waikato stallion complement (all LFG) is:

  • Savabeel - $100,000 + GST
  • Sacred Falls - $30,000 + GST
  • Ocean Park - $30,000 + GST
  • Pins - $25,000 + GST
  • Rock 'N' Pop - $9,000 + GST
  • No Excuse Needed - $6,000 + GST
  • Rios - $6,000 + GST
