Further Weekend Inglis Success In South Africa

Monday, 13th April 2015

In addition to Inglis celebrating Majmu's demoralising defeat of older mares in Saturday's Gr1 Empress Club Stakes at Turffontein in South Africa (see above), other Inglis graduates also had a field day, among them another two raced and trained by Majmu's connections. The Gr1-placed Anjaal (Lonhro-Miss Portofino) recorded his second career win when winning over 1400m, while two-year-old Shaama (Redoute's Choice-Absolut Glam) kicked off the day in style when winning on debut over 1160m. Meanwhile, Wild Ash (Dylan Thomas-Wild Orchid) capped off the triumphant day for Inglis graduates when recording her first stakes victory in the Listed Spook Express Handicap over 2450m. Consigned by Middlebrook Valley Lodge for $18,000 as a weanling at the 2011 Inglis Australian Weanling & Broodmare Sale, it was Wild Ash's second straight win over the same course and distance.
