Delicacy Wins Gr2 WATC Derby

At Ascot in Perth, Emirates Park Stud stallion Al Maher added a Gr2 success when filly Delicacy (Al Maher-Simply Wicked, by Scenic) scored a half-length win for trainer Grant Williams in the $400,000 Gr2 WATC Derby (2400m) for 3YOs, from fellow filly Keysbrook (So Secret-Interlagos, by Quest For Fame) & colt Boom Time (Flying Spur-Bit Of A Ride, by Snippets). A homebred for prominent WA owner and breeder Bob Peters, Delicacy's Oaks-Derby double took her record to 8 wins (including last month's Gr3 WA Oaks, Gr3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes, Listed Natasha Stakes & Listed Ascot 1000 Guineas) and 3 placings (the Listed WATC Burgess Queen Stakes) from 12 starts for $863,400 earnings.
