Snowden Praises Pride Of Dubai

Wednesday, 8th April 2015

Co-trainer Paul Snowden says that exceptional colt Pride Of Dubai (Street Cry-Al Anood, by Danehill) has come out of his Sires' Produce triumph in excellent order and is on track for the Gr1 Champagne Stakes (1600) at Randwick on 18 April if connections decide to go there. "The horse has come through with flying colours. He's a very laid back colt with a great attitude," Snowden told RSNs Shane Anderson. "I think Timmy Stakemire (racing manager for owner Sheikh Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum) has been on the phone a couple of times this morning, so I think we will probably know in the next couple of days if we will stick around for the Champagne or not." Snowden rates Pride Of Dubai as one of the best 2YOs he has ever been associated with, comparing him favourably to former star Godolphin juveniles Sepoy and Helmet. "He's right up there with those horses (Sepoy and Helmet) I feel. When you win like he did, it doesn't matter what's behind you - it's just the way he did it," he said. "He had no favours and he still got the job done. Good horses overcome these things."
