Caulfield Ahead Of Schedule

Thursday, 27th November 2014

Caulfield Track Manager Jason Kerr says that renovations to the track are running ahead of schedule and should be completed in time for the Gr1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) meeting on 14 February, reports horseracing.com.au. Work on the track began the day after the Caulfield Cup with Kerr confirming the entire track has now been re-laid. "Some of the turf has been down now four weeks and has had a couple of mows already," Kerr told TVN. "In another fortnight or so we will ease the irrigation off it and treat it like a more mature track and work on consolidating and compacting it." He added, "We will have some gallops at Caulfield pre-Orr Stakes. They will be scheduled in for the last week of January as well as some trials on it as part of our return to racing policy."
