Doyle & Buick New Riders For Godolphin
Godolphin's jockey ranks will have an entirely new look next season with Sheikh Mohammed hiring James Doyle and William Buick to ride for him and dumping Silvestre de Sousa from his line-up of riders, reports racingpost.com. John Gosden will also become part of the Godolphin fabric with Princess Haya's horses set to run in the royal blue silks from next season "as an extension of the global branding of the organisation". Doyle, 26, will join up as first jockey for Saeed Bin Suroor after his one-year contract with Khalid Abdullah's Juddmonte comes to an end next month, while William Buick, 26, will leave Gosden and take over as top rider for Charlie Appleby. De Sousa, who won the Dubai World Cup on African Story for Godolphin in March, has not had his contract renewed, while Mickael Barzalona, who relocated to France earlier this year, will continue to ride for Godolphin in France. John Ferguson, Sheikh Mohammed's bloodstock advisor, said: "Sheikh Mohammed has always respected both William and James and when their availability was confirmed at the end of this season he was keen to secure their services for the future." He added, "I think this is yet another clear indication of Godolphin's continued pursuit of excellence in both horses and humans."
