Kiwi Import Could Prove Inspired Buy
While overseas gallopers continued their domination of Australia's rich distance events, an import to New Zealand was making her own quiet statement, reports NZ Racing Desk. Bred in Great Britain, Pico Turquino justified her solid support to make a dream start to her New Zealand career at Avondale yesterday, scoring in a 1200 metres event for her new owners Raffles Farm. Pico Turquino is a half-sister to multiple English stakes winner and Gr1 performer Asset (placed Royal Ascot Gr1 Jubilee Stakes) from a family that features Vinery Stud's Gr1 Prix Morny winner and stallion Myboycharlie. It is a pedigree that also features Australian form through Gr1 Galaxy winner Snowland.
