Anodin Retired

Tuesday, 4th November 2014

Meanwhile, Anodin (Anabaa-Born Gold, by Blushing Groom) has been retired to stud following his fast finishing second behind fellow French challenger Karakontie in Saturday's Breeders' Cup Mile at Santa Anita, reports racinguk.com. The 4YO was attempting to follow in the hoofprints of his legendary full-sister Goldikova, who won the Breeders' Cup Mile three times for trainer Freddy Head among her 14 Gr1 triumphs. Although he was not successful at the highest level, connections still fell he will make a valuable addition to Haras du Quesnay. "Anodin retires to Haras du Quesnay and we're very happy about that. He is a good looking horse and a great performer with a fantastic pedigree, so he has all the attributes," said Pierre-Yves Bureau, racing manager for owners the Wertheimer brothers. "He was unfortunate to bump into Kingman in the Prix Jacques le Marois earlier in the year and he finished fast on Saturday. Unfortunately, he didn't get there, but the quality is there for sure." Anodin retires with 2 wins (including the Gr3 Prix Paul de Moussac) and 7 placings (including 5 at Gr1 level) from 14 starts for 533,643 earnings.
