Side Glance To Defend Mackinnon Crown

Wednesday, 29th October 2014

Trainer Andrew Balding says Side Glance (Passing Glance-Averami, by Averti) has emerged from his Cox Plate fourth in great shape and will bid to defend his title in Saturday's Gr1 Mackinnon Stakes (2000m) at Flemington, reports racingnetwork.com.au. The Mackinnon Stakes will be the 8YOs 17th successive start in a Gr1 race, stretching back to September 2012. "I'm really pleased with him. He's fresh and well," Balding said. "I think Flemington will suit him better than Moonee Valley." The Mackinnon is shaping as one of the races of the carnival with the likes of Criterion, Foreteller, Green Moon, He's Your Man, Rising Romance, Contributer, Happy Trails, Hawkspur, and Big Memory all entered for the race.
