Earthquake Progressing Well

Wednesday, 13th August 2014

Meanwhile, star filly Earthquake (Exceed and Excel-Cataclysm, by Marauding) has pleased in two private barrier trials at Godolphin's Agnes Banks training complex and is on track to resume in the Gr2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on 23 August, reports horseracing.com.au. Godolphin's racing manager Jason Walsh told Sky Racing HQ that the Blue Diamond winner and Golden Slipper runner-up had impressed stable jockey Kerrin McEvoy in her most recent trial win on 8 August. "Kerrin McEvoy was very pleased with her," Walsh said. "At this stage we will head towards the Silver Shadow over 1200. That is where we plan on kicking her off." Godolphin head trainer John O'Shea has previously stated that Earthquake's primary spring target will be either the Gr1 Flight Stakes in Sydney or the Gr1 Thousand Guineas in Melbourne.
