Natuzzi Enjoying Break

Wednesday, 25th June 2014

Talented Kiwi sprinter Natuzzi (Coats Choice-Monsanto, by Kilimanjaro) is enjoying a good spell in Pukekohe before he returns to his southern base to begin his build-up toward the feature spring and summer sprints, reports NZ Racing Desk. "He's still spelling at Gareth McRae's place and he'll stay there until at least the middle of July. He deserves a good rest and I think he'll come back that bit stronger and better,' said Wingatui trainer Paul Richards. Natuzzi's last appearance was in the Gr1 Goodwood Handicap in Adelaide where he finished ninth behind Smokin' Joey. Prior to that, he more than covered the cost of his Australian sojourn when winning the $100,000 Pink Ribbon Cup at Caulfield. The 5YO gelding earned the cross-Tasman trip following back-to-back wins in the Listed Lightning Handicap at Trentham and a second place effort in the Gr1 Telegraph Handicap. "He was up a long time and had come back into work in June last year and raced right through," added Richards. "He did a great job for us and when he returns we'll get him ready for the Stewards during the Riccarton carnival."
