Treve To Be Spelled

Monday, 23rd June 2014

Treve has been ruled out for the remainder of the European summer season due to pulled muscles and is not expected to be seen on a racecourse until September, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. However, connections are adamant that last year's brilliant Arc winner has lost none of her ability and she is expected to be fully fit when the time comes to defend her crown at Longchamp in October. Harry Herbert, representing Al Shaqab Racing, has revealed that Treve is "a bit sore in her back" after last week's third to The Fugue, her second defeat of the season. "She has probably pulled or tweaked muscles high up. It's nothing serious, but she's not right. We are not sure how she did it but something upset her and she kicked out a few times in the pre-parade ring, which was a little bit unusual," said Herbert. "The plan is that she will be rested now and come back in the Vermeille before trying to win the Arc again. I would have every confidence she can return to full form."
