Coolmore Buys Frankel Foal

Tuesday, 17th June 2014

The first Frankel foal to be offered at public auction has been knocked down to MV Magnier of Coolmore Stud for £1.15 million in London overnight, reports racingpost.com. The foal was offered along with his dam Crystal Gaze, who is back in foal to Frankel, at the Goffs London Sale, held at The Orangery in the grounds of Kensington Palace. Bidding opened at £1 million for Crystal Gaze and her foal, consigned by Tweenhills Farm, and lasted barely five minutes before Magnier made the winning bid. Magnier said: "We've really enjoyed tonight's sale and are delighted to have bought such a lovely mare and foal. The Coolmore team really like the look of the colt and we're excited for the future."
