Scenic Lodge Welcomes Dash For Cash

Friday, 21st February 2014

Popular stallion Dash for Cash (Secret Savings-Gulistan, by Rubiton) will follow a successful path set by former Swettenham Stud stallions Scenic and Blackfriars when he relocates to Western Australia for the 2014 breeding season. According to Swettenham Stud principal Adam Sangster, the decision to relocate the dual Gr1-winner was a difficult one but was done with the stallion's best interests at heart. "Dash for Cash has been a superb horse for the owners as a racehorse, for the stud as a stallion, and for the Australian breeder for his ability to throw a winner," Sangster said. "He has never been more professional in his duties as a stallion, but sadly he is being overshadowed by the roster that we have put together at Swettenham. Unfortunately the industry isn't what it was ten years ago as breeders continue to look for fresh young sires and we feel as though we can't do the horse justice by leaving him here in Victoria." Sangster added, "Dash for Cash loves the covering barn, but unfortunately we haven't been able to give him enough of an opportunity with the mares over the past few years. Swettenham have a very successful relationship with Scenic Lodge, having moved both Scenic and Blackfriars there in the past, and we see this as being a very natural fit." Dash for Cash, winner of the Gr1 Australian Guineas and Gr1 Futurity Stakes, boasts nearly 300 winners and his winners-to-runners strike rate is a very sound 65 per cent. Among his 20 stakes performers are Gr2 winners Arinosa and Chase the Rainbow, and Gr3 winners Bank Robber and Shuffle the Cash.
