Voleuse de Coeurs

Thursday, 13th February 2014

Mike Moroney says that Irish St Leger winner Voleuse De Coeurs (Teofilo-Vadorga, by Grand Lodge) has returned from a spell a much stronger horse as she prepares for an autumn campaign aimed at the Sydney Cup, reports racingnetwork.com.au. Moroney said Voleuse De Coeurs, who will resume in the Australian Cup at Flemington on 8 March, had "stacked" on the weight. He said the former Dermot Weld-trained 5YO mare weighed 445 kg when she left Ireland but now tips the scales at 520 kg. "She looks great, she's in terrific order," Moroney said. "She had one jump out, she will have another in a fortnight and I might even give her a gallop between races somewhere." Voleuse De Coeurs will run in the Gr1 The BMW (2400m) at Randwick on 5 April en route to the Gr1 Sydney Cup (3200m) at Randwick two weeks later. Voleuse De Coeurs' was last seen when finishing 10th in the Melbourne Cup behind Fiorente.
