Viadana Wins Gr1 NRM Sprint

At Te Rapa in New Zealand, Little Avondale Stud stallion Towkay (Last Tycoon-Princes Tracy, by Ahonoora) celebrated a Gr1 success when 6YO mare Viadana (Towkay-Yeah Nah, by Kinjite) scored by a head for trainer Lance Noble in the NZ$200,000 Gr1 NRM Sprint (1400m) for 3YO+, over 4YO gelding Sacred Star (Flying Spur-Irish Nova, by O'Reilly) & 5YO mare Diademe (Savabeel-Bling, by O'Reilly). Viadana took her record to 9 wins (including the Gr1 Easter Handicap, Gr3 Eagle Technology Stakes & Listed Lion Red Plate) & 8 placings (including the last-start Gr1 Zabeel Classic & Gr1 Captain Cook Stakes) from 26 starts for NZ$488,325 earnings. Viadana was purchased by Noble for NZ$25,000 at the 2009 NZB Select Yearling Sale from the draft of Little Avondale Stud.
