Million Dollar Baby On Debut Tomorrow
Valuable Fastnet Rock colt Zulu Land, who cost $1.5 million at this year's Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, will make his debut in the Flemington Equine Clinic Plate (1000m) at Caulfield tomorrow. Consigned by his breeder Kia-Ora Stud, Zulu Land was purchased by Coolmore's Tom Magnier in partnership with the China Horse Club, an emerging presence in the global racing industry. The 2YO will carry the red & yellow starred silks of the China Horse Club, a business, racing and social club whose members are primarily from Beijing. It currently boasts racing teams in France, Australia, Singapore, the USA and Ireland and celebrated its first major race success last week when Tropaios won the Gr1 Singapore Gold Cup. Zulu Land will be the first foal to race for the US Gr2-winning Hennessy mare Dream Play, a half-sister to Gr1 Hollywood Starlet Stakes winner Diplomat Lady (Forestry).
