Lines Of Battle Sold To Hong Kong

Thursday, 28th November 2013

Former Ballydoyle-trained 3YO Lines of Battle (War Front-Black Speck, by Arch), who won this year's Gr2 UAE Derby for Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith, Sue Magnier and Joe Allen, was recently sold and will continue his career under the care of Hong Kong trainer Tony Cruz as Helene Super Star, reports thoroughbreddailynews.com. A listed winner in Ireland at two, Lines Of Battle won the UAE Derby by 1.5-lengths before finishing a well beaten seventh behind Orb in the Kentucky Derby. He was last seen when finishing eighth behind Havana Gold in the Gr1 Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly in June. Helene Super Star will begin his Hong Kong racing career on a domestic rating of 92, making him eligible for Class 1 and Class 2 handicaps. Longer term, his goal is likely to be the Hong Kong Derby, a race restricted to Northern and Southern Hemisphere 4YOs on March 16.
