Life's A Beach For Cox Plate Winner
History-making Cox Plate winner Shamus Award has begun a slow build-up toward next year's Gr1 Australian Guineas at Flemington, reports NZ Racing Desk. "He's loving life," said trainer Danny O'Brien. "He's been doing a bit down at Thirteenth Beach and he looks great. He'll stay out at Barwon Heads until just after Christmas and then he'll come back here and he'll be getting ready for the autumn." O'Brien expects Shamus Award to have either one or two preparatory runs to peak him for the Guineas on Saturday 1st March.
