Waller Loses Out In Stable Numbers Game

Thursday, 13th December 2012

Leading Sydney trainer Chris Waller has again missed on getting boxes at Flemington in Melbourne, reports dailytelegraph.com.au. Waller was overlooked in favour of Anthony Freedman, however the decision – explained by the VRC's chief executive Dale Monteith – was based purely on wanting the 50 boxes vacated by Patinack Farm to be taken up by one trainer. Waller, who is well clear again on the Sydney Trainers Premiership, is only looking for around 10 boxes to use as a satellite for race-ready horses. Waller remains hopeful he will be allocated boxes at either Flemington (his preference) or Caulfield. There is speculation "the Melbourne Racing Club will consider Waller's bid for a minimum 10 boxes at the club's next board meeting."
