Burgundy Wins Listed Levin Stakes

At Levin in New Zealand, flagship Arrowfield Stud stallion & 2-time former Australian Champion Sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) added a stakes-success when 4YO entire Burgundy (Redoute's Choice-Grand Echezeaux, by Zabeel) scored by a long-neck for trainer Jason Bridgman in the Listed Levin Stakes (1200m) for 3YOs+, over 5YO gelding McLaren (Postponed-Kreisler Run, by Kreisler) & 4YO mare Special Draw (Falkirk-Summer Nymph, by Danske). Burgundy (a 3/4-brother to 5-time Gr1-winning & 5-time Gr1-placed stallion Darci Brahma) was a NZ$1.3 million yearling consigned by Pencarrow Stud at the 2010 NZB Premier Sale at Karaka & now boasts 6 wins (including last start Gr3 Windsor Park Stud Breeders Stakes, March's Listed Mr Tiz Trophy over 1200m at Ellerslie & 2011's Listed Canterbury Stakes at Riccarton Park) & 2 placings (in January's Gr3 Wellington Stakes at Trentham & 2011's Gr2 Great Northern Guineas at Ellerslie) from 9 starts for NZ$157,500 earnings.
