US Horse Of The Year For Sale

Owner Rick Porter of Fox Hill Farm has decided to sell 2011 US Horse of the Year Havre De Grace (Havre De Grace (Saint Liam-Easter Bunnette, by Carson City). Retired in April this year, Havre De Grace will be entered for the 2012 Fasig-Tipton November Sale, with Porter noting: "I had been planning on selling her there for some time and Mark Maronde of Keeneland has tried hard to have me sell her there but I had committed her to Boyd Browning (CEO of Fasig-Tipton) over a year ago." By the only crop of Saint Liam (Gr1 Breeders' Cup Classic winner) Havre De Grace (a US$380,000 yearling at the 2008 Keeneland September Sale) recorded 9 wins (including 2011's Gr1 Beldame Invitational Stakes over 9 furlongs at Belmont Park, Gr1 Woodward Stakes over 9 furlongs at Saratoga, Gr1 Apple Blossom Handicap over 8.5 furlongs at Oaklawn Park, Gr3 Obeah Handicap over 9 furlongs at Delaware Park & Gr3 Azeri Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Oaklawn Park, plus 2010's Gr2 Cotillion Handicap over 8.5 furlongs at Philadelphia Park) & 6 placings (including 2011's Gr2 Delaware Handicap over 10 furlongs at Delaware Park, plus 2010's Gr1 Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic over 9 furlongs at Churchill Downs, Gr1 Alabama Stakes over 10 furlongs at Saratoga, Gr2 Delaware Oaks over 8.5 furlongs at Delaware Park & Listed Go For Wand Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Delaware Park) from 16 starts for US$2,586,175 earnings.
